b+s Connects In-App Guidance
Introduction
The b+s Connects In-App Guidance package includes a number of prompts and walkthroughs developed by b+s and distributed through an unmanaged package. The In-App Guidance distributed with the package can be useful to CRM Admins on the first configuration of a b+s Configuration record. It displays a series of prompts and walkthroughs starting from the standard list of b+s Configuration records, guiding the Salesforce Admin through the process of creating a new b+s Configuration record and the configuration of its essential settings, ultimately providing a working CTI Phone.
This document provides information about the installation of the b+s Connects In-App Guidance package and the configuration of its components.
The b+s Connects In-App Guidance requires the b+s Connects for Salesforce package to be already installed in the Salesforce org.
In-App Guidance only works in Lightning Experience.
The package is distributed as a Salesforce unmanaged package, which contains the following components:

The In-App Guidance is installed and set as active by default (fully accessible and editable).
Installation
b+s Connects In-App Guidance v1.0
- Open in a browser: https://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04t09000000GHyf
- Login to Salesforce using the username of the Org where the b+s Connects In-App Guidance package will be installed
- Follow the instructions on screen and click on the
Install
button - Once the package is installed, the components in the list above should exist in the
Setup > User Engagement > In-App Guidance
page and be fully editable.
Configuration
Once installed, the In-App Guidance "Quick b+s Configuration Page guide" is active and enabled by default.
In order to preview, edit the prompts/walkthroughs, reset the metrics, deactivate or delete the In-App Guidance:
- Open Setup | In-App Guidance
- Click on the arrow icon on the right hand side of the screen, on the "Quick b+s Configuration Page guide" prompt row to open the options menu
- Select the action required
Please refer to the official Salesforce documentation in order to learn how to edit, selectively display the in-app guidance to specific profiles only, to schedule its appearance or to set the frequency the guidance will be shown and the days between occurrences.
