Logging
In the unlikely event of a problem, agents can make a request to save log files on the Finesse server via the gadget's UI. Log files are generated per request and stored on the Finesse server. The name includes the Agent ID as well as a timestamp determining when the log file was created.
By doing so, agents are not required to reproduce problems. On the other hand, it is not possible to enable logging proactively.
Finesse limitations
Cisco Finesse limits the available disk space for log files with the following parameters:
- File Size: The maximum size of a log file is 1.5 MB or 1'048'576 characters.
- Directory size: The maximum size of the client log directory is 100 MB.
b+s Connects for SAP C4C takes care to not exceed the maximum file size of 1.5 MB per log file. But the Cisco Contact Center Administrator is in charge of deleting log files in order to not exceed the maximum directory size for client logs.
Delete log files
As mentioned above, the Cisco Contact Center admin is responsible for removing the client logs on the Finesse server on a regular basis. Follow these steps in order to delete client log files:
- Log in to the Cisco Finesse CLI as an administrator
- Type
file delete activelog desktop/logs/clientlogs/
- You will then have to confirm deletion for every file that has been found under this path
Cisco Finesse client logs can also be found at https://< server name >/finesse/logs/clientlogs/
Analyze log files
The exported log files can be imported into the online log viewer.
This tool enables customers and the b+s support team to reproduce issues that have caused errors.
