Prerequisites
Check Host System Requirements
Before installing the Connects for Siebel software, take note of all hardware and related software requirements listed in the Connects for Siebel Release Notes. For hardware specifications regarding hardware requirements and supported agent capacities of the Connects for Siebel refer to Overview. For third-party host system requirements for all involved Cisco components as well as information regarding hard- and software requirements of CCE, refer to the chapter Overview.
Procure necessary system information (IPs, hostnames, CCE Peripheral IDs etc.)
Installation Prerequisites
The Connects for Siebel installation package consists of two separate installation packages:
Central Components
BucherSuter_MCAforSiebelCentralComponents_V_2_6_0_0_VoiceMedia_Installer.exe
This installer contains the Siebel RoutingAdapter, MediaManager, ChatConnector, DataStore, ConnectMCAL components. Go to the chapter Installing Siebel Central Components for a detailed description of the installation procedure.
In case of an update installation, please always update the central components first.
Toolbar adapter
BucherSuter_MCAforSiebelCommunicationToolbarAdapter_V_2_6_0_0_Installer.exe
This installer contains the Communication Toolbar Adapter component. Go to the chapter Installing Communication Toolbar Adapter for a detailed description of the installation procedure.
Product Activation Key
You will need the Product Activation Key (PAK) provided by Bucher + Suter. The same key can be utilized within the same deployment.
Network and Security
Ensure that local and remote ports used by the different Connects for Siebel components are not blocked by a firewall or used by another process on the target systems. Refer to the Connects for Siebel Overview for a complete list of all Connects for Siebel default ports in "Port Utilization"
Telnet Client
As the command-line interface of the Connects for Siebel components can only be accessed locally, it is required to install the Telnet Client on each server where a Connects for Siebel component is deployed. Microsoft provides a Telnet Client with Windows. It is not installed by default.
Write Access to Directories
The connector components needs access to write data to the local files system. The default settings will need write access to the following directories. If the defaults are changed, access must be configured accordingly.
