Basic Tasks

Login with your Power BI account: https://app.powerbi.com/

  • Select a Workspace, select a Report from List or Linage View to open the Report
  • Choose your Filter settings on the first report page, this will affect all pages by default
  • Interactions: Click on dimensions in the visuals to temporary filter data on the same report page
  • Use Drill down, Drill up and hierarchy levels on visuals with multiple dimensions using the arrows in the top right corner
  • Hover over the visuals to see information from tooltips
  • Change the sort order in the "More options" menu in the top right-hand corner of each visual if required
  • Select the "Focus mode" icon in the top right-hand corner of the visual to display only this visual on the whole page.
  • Edit the Report for any other changes on Visualizations and Data (edit permissions required). Right click on a tab and choose "Duplicate page" if you want to keep a copy of a page before modifying it.
  • Save a copy of the Report in the same workspace, if you want to do your own modifications while keeping the report template.
